The 3rd newsletter of FOM is late;It was due in September 2011 but however it is latest as it covers AIMST FOM news upto December 2011. The front cover page designed by Mr.Naga BN MBBS batch 15 student and MedSA president is studded with a spread of pictures mainly depicting student and staff successes. 2011 can be declared as the Year of co-curriculum as FOM hosted the international preclinical medical quiz and launched the RED association in April, officially launched aimsaa the alumni association, conducted CMEs in May and November, conducted many health camps, opened up new avenues in corporate social responsibility and tied up with many a club, association and committees of repute. As usual, a selection of FOM’s academic achievements has been captured mainly from the monthly meeting minutes of the faculty. The students excelled in both brawn and brain, winning sports events, debates, quizzes and beauty contests.

This issue too has been blessed with faculty and students revealing their artistic dimension contributing scientific articles, poems, general write-ups and reports of events. FOM has among its students and staff a bevy of professional organizers and event managers who could churn up a class ceremony within short notice and their reports will serve as motivation and as a guideline to many. Many of these reports have featured on New Straits Times and The Star apart from being available on various blog sites.

Reports from faculty/students include the preclinical quiz, the charity of hope night, coverage of the numerous health camps, MMA membership drive, alumni news, MEDSA events to name a few. Facebook served as an important media for communicating academic and non academic matters and I ampersonally beaming with the title ‘the facebook of medical faculty’ bestowed on me by Dr.Gokul during the MBBS batch 9/10 felicitation.
